Linen Wrap Dress, Gap, $59.50
Pros:
lightweight fabric in all-season color; goes day-to-night easily; can be dressed up or down; classic cut that won't go out of style.
Cons: Gap dresses in the past have been a bit roomy in the waist; some wrap dresses require a cami underneath to avoid flashing passersby. Remains to be seen.
Wear With: bright flats, high sandals, bright coral/turquoise/enamel jewelry

Striped Cotton Slub Shift Dress, Gap, $54.99
Pros: neutral color with subtle pattern; great pleat detail at boatneck; longer short sleeves make it a fall transition piece
Cons: Hard to tell from the picture, but the fit looks like it possibly borders on "boxy"; stiff pleats could make the neck uncomfortable; never tried this "cotton slub" material, so texture is unpredictable.
Wear With: bright belt, bright shoes, bangles, cocktail rings, chunky earrings, bright cardigans

Striped Pleated Shirt, Gap, $29.99
Pros: pink flatters my skin; texture at chest creates interest in a classic shirt; lightweight fabric is great for summer; can layer underneath a blazer or sweater. On sale.
Cons: Ordering button-downs online is tricky - fit remains to be seen; shirt might be too roomy in the torso - need tailoring or smaller size.
Wear With: full skirts (tucked), bright capris/shorts (depends), headbands, jackets, cardigans

And here's a gratuitous picture of London, just to remind you all how excited I am.
