Stepping into Spring (but no puddles)

One of my many favorite things about spring is the fresh, lightweight new clothing that comes out, especially the shoes to accompany them. After a long fall/winter season of heavy leather knee-high boots, furry snow gear, tweed pumps, sturdy Oxfords and my least favorite trend this winter, booties (of any material), nothing feels quite like that first 60+ day when you put on a new pair of springy shoes with your easy khakis, pleated skirt or shirtdress. The new materials - lighter leather, silk, cork, canvas, snakeskin - and the accompanying pedicures and legs that haven't seen much sun since October are finally ready to be released into the wild.

So here is a beautiful array of spring 2008 shoes that are elegant, airier and affordable.
